If you belong to a Non-for-Profit organization
Academic or Government institutions utilizing the shRNA Technology for Research and Development or through purchase of its components are free to use (in essence a free royalty license) for internal academic/government research use only. This license excludes specifically the use of the shRNA Technology in projects sponsored by for-profit institutions and the right to sell or otherwise transfer the shRNA components to third parties.
Intellectual Property & Licensing
As the exclusive licensing agent of the CSHL shRNA patent portfolio,Hairpin Technologies offers access to the shRNA technology to for-profit entities (i.e. end users, manufacturers and distributors) in the form of non-exclusive end user licenses or non-exclusive manufacturer/distributor licenses. If you want to make, use or sell the shRNA Technology, you can get access through a License Agreement via Hairpin Technologies. License fees for end users are based on the company size, with manufacturer/distributor licenses including running royalties.
